Horticulture

The production of high value plants using dissolved nutrients from fish production is an effective way to reduce nutrient discharges from fish production facilities. Aquaponics is a new form of agriculture that uses water as a medium, rather than soil, to provide nutrients for proper growth. Dr. West is leading the effort to determine the best choice of plants to raise in water shared with fish production facilities.
